Yedioth Ahronot: European and Palestinian Arrangements to Open the Rafah Crossing
SadaNews - The European monitoring force has arrived at the Rafah crossing accompanied by Palestinian staff, in a preparatory step aimed at reopening the crossing after a long period of closure.
Yedioth Ahronot newspaper reported that the European force has undergone intensive training over the past months on operational mechanisms at the crossing, including inspection procedures and coordination with Palestinian and Egyptian authorities. According to sources, the team is ready to begin its mission as soon as the official decision to open the crossing is issued.
Yedioth Ahronot also clarified that Israel will receive daily from the Egyptian side lists of names of travelers intending to cross through the Rafah crossing, in order to approve them before allowing passage.
