Martyr in Israeli Airstrikes on Eastern and Southern Lebanon

SadaNews - A Lebanese citizen was martyred today, Sunday, due to an Israeli airstrike that targeted the town of Kharbet Selm in southern Lebanon, as part of a series of airstrikes and attacks carried out by Israeli warplanes and drones on various areas in the south and the Bekaa in eastern Lebanon.

The official Lebanese agency reported, citing local sources, that the airstrike which resulted in the martyrdom of the citizen did not target the outskirts of the towns of Kfardounin and Bir al-Salasil as previously mentioned, but rather targeted a hangar inside the town of Kharbet Selm.

In a related context, the Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on the outskirts of the town of Nabi Sheet in the Bekaa region of eastern Lebanon, specifically in the Shaara area within the eastern mountain range, according to the agency.

An Israeli drone also dropped two sonic bombs in the town of Dahira in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon, coinciding with the dropping of similar sonic bombs in the town of Aitaa al-Chaab in the Bent Jbeil district.

The National News Agency noted that the Israeli airstrikes focused on mountainous areas and outskirts in eastern Lebanon, in addition to scattered targets in the south, amid a continuous field escalation witnessed in the border areas.

The official agency also reported that hostile drones are flying in the skies of the Baalbek region at a low altitude.

The Israeli occupation army claimed in a statement that it carried out airstrikes targeting "elements of Hezbollah" whom it said were active inside a "facility for producing military means" in southern Lebanon.

The statement claimed that the army shelled a "building" in the Bir al-Salasil area in southern Lebanon, alleging that it was used as a "site for producing military means for Hezbollah," after what it described as "monitoring activity" of party elements inside it in recent times.

The occupation army added that it carried out an "additional strike" in the Bekaa region, targeting what it described as "military infrastructure" belonging to Hezbollah, considering that "the activity of party elements in the targeted sites constitutes a violation of the ceasefire agreements."
