Central Elections: 50,000 New Registrants in the Voter Registry
SadaNews - The Central Elections Commission stated that the process of updating the voter registry is ongoing in various governorates across the country, with significant participation from citizens.
The commission explained in a statement issued today, Wednesday, that since receiving the Cabinet's decision regarding the local elections in 2026, a total of (49,589) new citizens have been registered in the voter registry electronically - via the website - and on the ground, while approximately 275,000 citizens have inquired about their registration centers.
The commission added that on the first day of the on-ground registration process, which launched yesterday, Tuesday, (15,352) new citizens were registered in the voter registry, while (2,196) citizens transferred their polling places, and (51,293) citizens inquired about their polling centers through the commission's website.
The commission pointed out that the electronic and field registration processes are still ongoing, urging non-registered citizens, or those wishing to modify or transfer their data, to hurry up and do so via the commission's website or through the registration centers spread across all local authorities in the West Bank and the offices of electoral circles, until 2 PM on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
The commission noted that it is receiving citizens' inquiries via social media, through the website, or through the commission's phone numbers.
