On the Second Day.. Occupation Continues its Aggression on the Southern Region of Hebron
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the southern region of Hebron for the second consecutive day.
The occupation forces are continuing to carry out large military reinforcements to invade the southern areas, which involved closing most of the main and secondary streets and separating neighborhoods with dirt barricades and concrete cubes, along with carrying out extensive raids and searches that targeted citizens' homes and commercial establishments.
Dozens of citizens were subjected to field interrogations, and damage was inflicted on the area's infrastructure.
Security sources told the official agency, "The occupation forces informed residents that this aggression will continue for several months if residents do not adhere to the issued instructions."
For its part, the Hebron municipality clarified that these developments cannot be separated from the context of the ongoing colonial events targeting the old town and the Ibrahimi mosque, accompanied by continuous escalation and entrenching a new colonial reality.
This systematic escalation is considered a reflection of the policy of imposing a new reality on the ground, increasing tensions, and undermining the elements of safe living for citizens amidst continuous violations against the city, its residents, and its sacred sites.
The municipality called on all international and human rights bodies to assume their responsibilities and urgently intervene to stop these violations, protect civilians, and preserve the historical and religious character of the old town and the Ibrahimi mosque.
Yesterday, occupation forces imposed a complete closure on several neighborhoods in the southern part of the city, including: Sarsouriya, Jabal Jawhar, Al-Kasara, Khillat Al-Quba, Wadi Al-Baqar, the surroundings of Tariq Bin Zayed School, Al-Mukhtar Square, and the route to Al-Ikhwa School.
They also set up an iron gate at Al-Mukhtar Square and another at the entrance to Sarsouriya, and arrested a number of citizens after searching their homes and brutally assaulting them.
The forces also closed several entrances connecting the southern neighborhoods with concrete blocks and dirt barricades, and took over the roofs of several houses, turning them into military outposts.
