Trump attacks Macron: "He will be out of the presidency office soon"

SadaNews - In a new escalation, U.S. President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, considering that Paris's refusal to join the "Peace Council" he proposed "doesn't matter to anyone," adding that Macron "will be out of the presidency office soon."

Trump confirmed his intention to impose a 200% tariff on French wine and champagne, stressing that this move will force Macron to join the council that he advocates.

For its part, sources close to the French president told the French Press Agency that Paris "does not intend to respond to the invitation" at this stage, explaining that the U.S. initiative "raises fundamental questions" that go beyond the Gaza issue alone and include respect for the principles and structure of the United Nations which "cannot be questioned."

In a related context, Trump continued to make controversial statements, asserting that he "does not care about the Nobel Peace Prize or what Norway says about the Nobel Committee," adding that "Denmark is unable to protect Greenland," while announcing at the same time an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the special council for Gaza.

Trump also revealed a "very good" phone call he had with the NATO Secretary General regarding Greenland, indicating his approval to hold a meeting in Davos with various parties. He added, "Greenland is vital for national and global security, and there is no room for retreat on that."

Trump concluded by saying, "We are the only power capable of ensuring peace around the world, and this is achieved simply through strength."
