Switzerland Bans Al Jazeera from Broadcasting Under the Pretext of Airing Pro-Hamas Propaganda

SadaNews Translation - A spokesperson for the Swiss news agency "Keystone-SDA" confirmed that Al Jazeera Arabic will not broadcast its programs until the validity of the accusations is verified, thus corroborating a report published by the newspaper "Sonntags Blick".

The Sunday paper, according to SadaNews translation, indicated that Al Jazeera's broadcasting in Switzerland has been suspended since December 10, 2025, due to its content often falling into a legally gray area.

According to the newspaper, the two Swiss television broadcasting companies "Swisscom" and "Sunrise" have removed the Qatari Al Jazeera Arabic channel from their offerings.

In contrast, the English-speaking Al Jazeera channel, aimed at Western audiences, remains included in the packages of the two operating companies.
The "Sonntags Blick" reported that the pro-Israel group "Fox Israel" criticized the two Swiss companies that broadcast the controversial channel.

The group based its criticism on a report issued by the Israeli Meir Amit Center for Intelligence and Terrorism Information, which stated that Al Jazeera Arabic has been broadcasting pro-Hamas propaganda for years. The Israeli army also made similar accusations, which Al Jazeera Arabic denied.

It is worth mentioning that a ban on Hamas has been in effect in Switzerland since May 2025. This measure also applies to associations and groups that operate for or on behalf of Hamas.
