Mustafa Discusses Political Developments and Field Conditions with European Peace Process Envoy

SadaNews - Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa discussed today, Sunday, with the European Union's Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, Christoph Beigel, the latest political developments and the field conditions in Palestine, in the presence of Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Stefan Salameh.

During the meeting, which took place in his office in Ramallah, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of supporting Security Council resolutions related to Palestine, particularly those concerning the Gaza Strip and the necessity of opening crossings with the sector, providing temporary shelter and reconstruction materials, intensifying relief efforts, removing debris, and economic recovery.

The Prime Minister also called on all parties, especially the Israeli side, to facilitate the work of the Palestinian committee to manage the Gaza Strip during this transitional phase and to empower it by opening crossings, thus supporting their efforts to alleviate the suffering of our people.

Mustafa reiterated his commitment to the geographical, legal, and political unity between the West Bank and Gaza Strip under the sovereignty of the State of Palestine.

The Prime Minister also called for international pressure to release the Palestinian funds held by Israel and to halt all Israeli measures in the West Bank and the assaults by settlers.

Mustafa praised the ongoing European support for Palestine on all levels.

For his part, Christoph Beigel confirmed Europe’s commitment to continuing support for the two-state solution and the realization of a Palestinian state, as well as ongoing support for the institutions of the State of Palestine and our people on all fronts, particularly political, economic, and humanitarian support.
