King of Jordan Receives Invitation from Trump to Join Gaza Peace Council
SadaNews - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated on Sunday that King Abdullah II has received an invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council, and that the related documents are currently under review according to internal legal procedures.
The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Majali, confirmed that the Kingdom values President Trump's leadership role in reaching a ceasefire in Gaza, launching a comprehensive peace plan, and his efforts to achieve security, stability, and peace.
Trump has begun forming the "Peace Council" dedicated to the Gaza Strip, and several world leaders announced on Saturday that they have received official invitations to join it.
The White House clarified that according to the U.S. plan to end the war in Gaza, a Peace Council will be established, chaired by Trump.
In addition to this council, two other bodies have been created related to it: a Palestinian technocrat committee to temporarily manage the Gaza Strip and an "Executive Council" that seems to play an advisory role.
The White House confirmed that the Peace Council, led by Donald Trump, will address issues such as "enhancing administrative capacities, regional relationships, reconstruction, attracting investments, broad financing, and capital movement" to rebuild Gaza, which has been devastated by a war lasting two years.
The "Peace Council" will supervise the work of the Palestinian technocrat committee assigned to temporarily manage the sector, which aims to "oversee the restoration of essential public services, rebuild civil institutions, and stabilize daily life in Gaza."
