The White House Announces the Composition of the 'Peace Council' and the Commander of the International Stability Force in Gaza
SadaNews - The White House announced late Friday to Saturday the composition of the 'Peace Council' in Gaza, following the announcement of the start of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, and the commencement of meetings of the Gaza Management Committee headed by Ali Shaath.
The 'Peace Council' is chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump and includes his Secretary of State Marco Rubio, his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Mark Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and Robert Gabriel.
The White House also announced the appointment of Major General Jasper Jeffers as the commander of the international stability force, with Arieh Lightstone and Josh Greenbaum serving as senior advisors to the 'Peace Council,' while Executive Council member Nikolai Mladenov will hold the position of High Representative for Gaza.
It was noted that an executive council for Gaza is being established to support the office of the High Representative and the National Committee for Gaza Management chaired by Shaath.
