Israel Links Withdrawal from Gaza to Progress in Disarming Hamas
SadaNews - The Israeli Broadcasting Authority stated that Israel does not intend to withdraw from the yellow line east of the Gaza Strip before achieving significant progress in the disarmament of Hamas. It confirmed that the Israeli stance remains firm amid continuing security tensions in the region.
On another note, the Walla news site reported that American officials indicated Washington is preparing to begin talks with Hamas regarding the disarmament of the Gaza Strip, in an attempt to find common ground, although Israel remains skeptical about the possibility of achieving quick results.
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his belief that there is an opportunity to achieve this, despite the difficulty of the task, pointing out that it becomes more logical if linked to a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza, as investors cannot enter an area where an organization is described by the United States as "terrorist".
