Trump Administration Classifies Branches of the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ in Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon as Terrorist Organizations
SadaNews - The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has fulfilled its commitment to classify three branches of the "Muslim Brotherhood" in the Middle East as terrorist organizations, imposing sanctions on them and their members.
Today, Tuesday, the Treasury and State Departments announced these measures against the branches of the "Muslim Brotherhood" in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, which they stated pose a threat to the United States and its interests.
The State Department designated the Lebanese branch as a foreign terrorist organization, which is the most severe classification, making the provision of material support to the group a criminal offense. The Jordanian and Egyptian branches were included by the Treasury Department on the specially designated global terrorist organizations list for their support of the "Hamas" movement.
