Jordan Condemns Ben Gvir's Incursion into Al-Aqsa Mosque

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incursion of the extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif, under the protection of occupation police. It considered it a blatant violation of the legal and historical status quo at Al-Haram Al-Sharif, a desecration of its sanctity, an unacceptable provocation, and a condemned escalation, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Majali, reaffirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the continued incursions by the extremist minister Ben Gvir, and the facilitation of continuous incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif by the Israeli occupation police as provocative and inciting actions that aim to impose new realities at Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif, through attempts to temporally and spatially divide it, warning of the consequences of continued provocative violations of Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem.

Majali called on Israel, as the occupying power, to cease all provocative practices by the extremist minister, which are considered a continuation of the Israeli government's extremist policy aimed at perpetuating dangerous escalation and unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank, and violating the sanctity of Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem.

Majali reiterated that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its total area of 144 dunams, is an exclusive place of worship for Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs, which is affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, is the legal body with exclusive jurisdiction over managing the affairs of Al-Aqsa Mosque/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif, and regulating access to it.
