SadaNews - The spokesperson for the Central Elections Commission, Farid Ta'mallah, announced that the number of registered voters for the local elections in the electoral register has reached nearly one million four hundred thousand.
Ta'mallah stated in a statement today, Tuesday, that the Central Elections Commission is completing all preparations for the start of the first phase, which is the registration of voters in 420 local councils for the local elections scheduled for April 25th. He added that electronic registration is currently open via the Commission's website www.elections.ps.
He explained that, starting from the morning of January 20th, registration centers will be opened at the offices of the Elections Commission, in addition to the headquarters of the 420 local authorities in the West Bank, to register citizens, transfer polling places, and update data for those who wish, daily - including on Fridays and Saturdays - from 9 AM until 2 PM until January 24th.
Ta'mallah emphasized that registration is a prerequisite for voting and candidacy, urging citizens who have not registered before to take the initiative to register themselves, indicating that those who have registered previously and have had no changes to their data are not required to register again.
