Izzar Sany Values the Installation of Pastor Imad Haddad as the Fifth Bishop of the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Jordan and the Holy Lands

SadaNews - Former Bishop Izzar Ibrahim Sany of the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Jordan and the Holy Lands said, "Today we gather, grateful and glorifying God, on this blessed church occasion to consecrate Pastor Dr. Imad Haddad as the fifth bishop of the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Jordan and the Holy Lands. As the fourth bishop of this church, I extend my sincerest heartfelt congratulations and brotherly blessings to my brother Pastor Dr. Imad Haddad as he responds to this sacred call, guided by the Holy Spirit, to serve the church and its people faithfully and responsibly."

Sany added during the installation ceremony of Pastor Imad Haddad as the fifth bishop of the Lutheran Evangelical Church in Jordan and the Holy Lands, "In this pivotal event in our church's journey, we affirm that our foundation is firm and unwavering, which is Jesus Christ, the Lord of the church and its head. Our church was founded in His holy name, and throughout the decades, every bishop has served according to the needs of his era and the demands of service, carrying the trust of spiritual and pastoral leadership. Despite the differing visions and methods across generations, our mission remains one, rooted in Christ who unites and leads us. Every service we perform, every tradition we preserve, every renewal we adopt, and every relationship we build, all stem from our shared faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

He continued, "Today we celebrate this consecration in the time of divine revelation, the time when the church proclaims God's active presence in the world through the life and ministry of His Son. It is a time that reminds us that God is still at work in His church, revealing His will through faithful obedience, sincere testimony, and humble leadership. As we commemorate today the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ and the beginning of His public ministry, we remember that church leadership is, at its core, a call to service and sacrifice."

He added, "On this distinguished occasion, we are delighted to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, for his continuous support of the Lutheran Evangelical Church and for his gracious care of the Christian community in Jordan and the Holy Lands. We were honored at this important event by the presence of His Excellency Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr. Issam Al-Badour, who represented His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein."

He also highly valued the historical and pivotal role played by His Majesty as the custodian of Islamic and Christian sanctities, a role that embodies a firm commitment to justice, preserving human dignity, and promoting the values of coexistence. The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan remains an honorable model in religious diversity, interfaith dialogue, and brotherhood among community components, a model we are proud to belong to. We also recall with great appreciation that the official registration of our church took place in 1959 by a gracious decree from the late King Hussein bin Talal, may God have mercy on him, who left a lasting legacy of wisdom, openness, and respect for pluralism."

He said, "We also extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our partners and friends coming from various parts of the world, who share with us this special day in the life of our church. Your presence is a living sign of ecclesiastical fellowship, the unity of the body, and the solidarity of churches in testimony and service. We especially welcome the esteemed ambassadors, representatives of the diplomatic corps, heads of churches, and leaders of ecumenical work, whose ongoing support forms a fundamental pillar in enhancing the church's mission and service."

He added, "Dear Pastor Dr. Imad Haddad, as you assume today the trust of this episcopal service, we affirm our prayers and support for you. The service of a bishop, as a spiritual leader, a faithful shepherd, a teacher of the church, and a steward of its administration, carries a heavy responsibility, especially in times of challenges and pain. Yet these very times call for leadership rooted in faith, steadfast in hope, and armed with love."

He continued, "We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ grants you wisdom and discernment, courage and steadfastness, and pours His grace upon you so that you may lead the church with fidelity and integrity. May the Holy Spirit guide and support you in all your responsibilities, and may the example of Christ and His grace be a light to your path in this new chapter of your episcopal ministry."
