Israeli Occupation Continues Violating Ceasefire Agreement and Launches Airstrikes on Gaza
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation has continued to violate the fragile ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip for the 88th day, launching airstrikes, artillery shelling, and gunfire from military vehicles in several areas, particularly in the cities of Gaza, Khan Younis, and Deir al-Balah.
Local sources reported that Israeli airstrikes targeted the eastern areas of these cities, coinciding with the demolition of residential buildings and the gunfire from military vehicles, while efforts to move to the second phase of the ceasefire remain stalled.
Israeli artillery also shelled the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and several eastern areas in Khan Younis, with no injuries reported, while tanks and military vehicles opened fire in areas in eastern Gaza, Khan Younis, and Jabalia. Naval boats also fired toward the coast of Gaza City, with no reports of injuries.
In the same context, the Israeli army carried out operations to demolish buildings and facilities in areas of its deployment in the northern and southern Gaza Strip, especially in eastern Jabalia.
Despite Israeli reports about the imminent opening of the Rafah crossing, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that the crossing would not be opened until the body of the last captured Israeli is returned.
In the context of diplomatic efforts, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed the implementation of the requirements of the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan, particularly concerning Israeli withdrawals from Gaza.
