Katz Orders Preparation of a Plan to Occupy the Remaining Camps in the West Bank
SadaNews Translation - The Hebrew Walla website revealed on Tuesday that Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz has instructed his military leadership in the West Bank to prepare and plan for operations to occupy the remaining Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank.
According to the Hebrew site, as translated by SadaNews, the aim is to carry out operations similar to those currently taking place in the northern West Bank camps, specifically Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams.
These operations in those camps are described as highly successful and effective as they have allowed the Israeli army to operate freely there, especially in the Jenin camp, which has been referred to as the "Hornet's Nest," according to the Hebrew site.
The site noted that the Israeli army has established permanent military positions and forward bases in those camps to prevent the re-establishment of armed infrastructure, and engineering operations have been carried out by demolishing houses and creating new roads to allow military vehicles to move freely.
The site claimed, as translated by SadaNews, that the Palestinian Authority has stopped rent payments for tens of thousands of families displaced from those camps due to financial difficulties.
It quoted Israeli military sources claiming that most of the armed individuals fled from those camps after the operation to other villages, towns, and cities in the West Bank, and they began to regroup there, but they are facing significant difficulties in forming "organized brigades" as they used to, due to military operations.
A senior officer stated, "There is no longer a safe haven for any terrorist, and we will pursue everyone wherever they are." According to his statement.
