Lebanese President: Israel's Continued Attacks Aim to Undermine Efforts to Halt Escalation
SadaNews: The Lebanese president confirmed that Israel's continued attacks on Lebanese territory aim to undermine all international efforts to stop the ongoing escalation.
He explained that these attacks, which have targeted various towns in the Bekaa Valley and the south, reaching the city of Sidon, represent a clear violation and raise many questions, especially as they occurred on the eve of a meeting of the ceasefire monitoring committee.
The president emphasized that Lebanon is responsive to international efforts, noting that the Lebanese army is implementing the government's measures in southern Litani with professionalism, commitment, and accuracy, reflecting the state's seriousness in maintaining stability and implementing international decisions. He added that the recent Israeli attacks raise questions about their objectives and timing, especially as they come amid intensive efforts to contain the tension.
Meanwhile, the Hebrew site "Walla" reported that a senior security source in Israel stated that there is no intention on Israel's part to dismantle the five military sites in Lebanese territory, reflecting the ongoing field tension and the absence of signs indicating a de-escalation in the current phase.
