Iran: Israel Seeks to Undermine Our National Unity
SadaNews - Iran accused Israel on Monday of seeking to "undermine its national unity" following comments by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressing his country's solidarity "with the aspirations of the Iranian people for freedom."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baqaei said, "The Zionist regime is determined to exploit any opportunity to spread discord and undermine our national unity, and we must remain vigilant."
He added: "Netanyahu's statements and those of some extremist American officials are nothing but incitement to violence."
These protests are among the largest in Iran since movements erupted in September 2022 and lasted for months, following the death of young woman Mahsa Amini after being detained by the morality police for allegedly violating strict dress codes imposed on women in Iran.
President Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday that it would face a "very strong blow" from the United States if more protesters were killed during demonstrations that have entered their second week in protest against living conditions.
Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, "We are closely monitoring the situation. If they start killing people like they did in the past, I think they will receive a very strong blow from the United States."
