SadaNews - Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris warned that the actions of U.S. authorities against Venezuela and the abduction of its President Nicolas Maduro threaten to create chaos that American families will have to pay for.

Harris wrote on the social media platform "X": "We have seen this film before. Wars for regime change or oil, which are presented as power, turn into chaos, and American families pay the price for that."

She added that the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump towards Venezuela do not make America safer or stronger.

She affirmed, saying: "This move was illegal and unwise. The American people do not want this and are tired of the lies... It's about oil and Donald Trump's desire to play the role of regional dictator."

Harris noted that Trump is putting U.S. forces at risk, spending billions of dollars, destabilizing the Caribbean region, and offering no legal justifications, exit plan, or any local benefits.

Trump announced on Saturday that the United States had launched a large-scale strike against Venezuela, and that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores had been arrested and taken out of the country.
