Maduro's Deputy: There is Only One President for Venezuela

SadaNews - Delcy Rodríguez, Deputy to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that Venezuela will not be a colony of any country, following statements made by U.S. President Donald Trump.

On Saturday, she highlighted the necessity of unity to defend Venezuela, affirming that there is only one president for Venezuela, referring to Maduro.

This came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that American forces conducted a significant military operation in Venezuela this morning, describing it as a "attack not seen since World War II," aimed at arresting Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife and bringing them to American justice.

Trump pointed out that the United States will control Venezuela until the transitional phase is completed, and that American companies will enter the Venezuelan market to work in the oil sector.

He continued, saying: "We will strengthen the power and security of the Venezuelan people and are prepared for another attack if necessary."

Trump stated that the operation was fully successful, explaining that the Venezuelan army has become powerless, and its military capabilities have been completely paralyzed.

He added: "The U.S. army executed a remarkable operation, and not a single soldier was killed or any equipment lost during the operation."

Trump also revealed that Maduro and his wife were arrested at midnight aboard a ship and are now heading to New York to face justice after criminal charges were brought against them.

Drug Trafficking and Terrorism

For its part, the U.S. Attorney General revealed that Maduro and his wife face charges in New York that include conspiracy related to drug trafficking terrorism, possession of weapons, and explosives against the United States.

Informed sources disclosed that Maduro was arrested by Delta forces, which are akin to elite units within the U.S. military, according to CBS NEWS.

The United States has accused Maduro of running a "narco-state" and rigging elections. Meanwhile, the Venezuelan leader accused Washington of seeking to take control of his country's oil reserves, the largest in the world.
