Gaza at the Forefront of Qatari-American Discussions Held Today in Doha
SadaNews - Qatar has affirmed through its Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, that the key to the desired stability in the Middle East begins with the "full implementation" of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
This came during his reception of a high-level delegation of members of the US Congress today, Saturday, in Doha.
The developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip topped the agenda of the meeting, where the close strategic relations linking Doha and Washington were reviewed and ways to enhance them to serve mutual interests were discussed.
His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized during the meeting the urgent need for all regional and international efforts to converge at this current stage and to ensure the comprehensive implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip as a top priority, considering this agreement the only pathway to achieving sustainable peace and true stability in the region.
This visit by the American Congressional members strengthens Qatar's pivotal role as a reliable international mediator, consistently seeking to discuss issues of mutual interest and explore ways to calm the situation in conflict hotspots. The two sides also discussed ways to support Qatari-American bilateral relations in various strategic fields.
