Trump Reveals Details of Maduro's Arrest Operation and His Detention Location

SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump revealed details of the operation to arrest Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, confirming that the operation was carried out precisely and without the loss of any American lives, and that he watched it live via a live broadcast.

Trump said in an interview with Fox News: "We waited four days to launch the operation waiting for the weather to improve," indicating the importance of choosing optimal conditions before executing the mission.

He also added: "I am now making the decision on what will happen to the leadership of Venezuela in the next stage," confirming that the United States will not allow anyone to continue what Maduro has done.

Trump continued: "Maduro tried to negotiate in the end. I said no," adding that the Venezuelan president is "responsible for the deaths of 300,000 Americans annually due to drugs."

Arrested inside a fort

About the details of the operation, Trump said: "U.S. forces arrested Maduro from inside a fort," stressing that the operation resulted in no American casualties and that he is currently held aboard the USS Iwo Jima.

He added: "I watched the operation live via a live broadcast, and it was like a television show."

Finally, Trump indicated that the United States "will engage strongly in the Venezuelan oil sector" following Maduro's arrest, in a step aimed at strengthening control over the country's vital resources.

It is worth noting that this unexpected American move came after months of tension between Washington and Caracas. The U.S. forces have repeatedly announced targeting boats suspected of drug trafficking.

The United States has also significantly bolstered its military presence in the Caribbean, deploying the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, other warships, fighters, and long-range bombers.
