Israeli Airstrikes on al-Zeitoun Neighborhood in Gaza

Sada News - The Israeli army conducted airstrikes and artillery shelling in various areas east of Gaza City on Friday evening, within regions it still controls under the truce agreement.

This comes amid ongoing Israeli violations of the agreement that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army launched two consecutive airstrikes east of the al-Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City and that Israeli artillery shelled different areas of the al-Sanafour intersection in the al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

Palestinian Martyr

These violations followed hours after a Palestinian was martyred by occupation fire in the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza Strip, within areas from which it withdrew under the agreement.

They also came after Egypt accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking to hinder the implementation of the second phase of the agreement and of trying to ignite the region.

The second phase of the agreement includes several key issues, most notably reconstruction, expanding the Israeli withdrawal, forming a technocratic committee to manage the sector, disarming Hamas, as well as forming a peace council and establishing international forces.

Israel is evading fulfilling its commitments under the first phase of the agreement, most notably the cessation of hostilities, as it continues to fire and shell in various parts of the sector, resulting in the killing of 406 Palestinians and injuring 1,118 others from October 11 until Wednesday.

The agreement ended a genocide war that Israel began on October 10, 2023, with American support, which lasted two years, leaving around 71,000 Palestinian martyrs and more than 171,000 injured, and causing massive destruction that affected 90% of the infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the United Nations at about 70 billion dollars.
