Trump's remarks came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced yesterday that Israel officially recognizes Somaliland as an independent sovereign state. The Israeli Prime Minister's Office released a video showing Netanyahu signing the recognition document during a video call with Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi. Netanyahu clarified that this step is part of expanding the Abraham Accords, emphasizing that Somaliland will become part of the regional peace and cooperation circle that Israel seeks to establish.
