Civil Defense Calls on Citizens to Exercise Caution During the Upcoming Atmospheric Depression
SadaNews - The Higher Council for Civil Defense has warned citizens, based on meteorological data, that the country will be affected by an atmospheric depression starting on Friday evening and continuing until next Wednesday. This will be accompanied by heavy rains that may lead to flash floods, as well as strong winds reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h, in addition to a noticeable drop in temperatures with a significant feeling of cold.
In a statement issued on Thursday, it urged drivers to take necessary precautions and ensure vehicle maintenance, maintain a safe distance, avoid crossing water accumulations, and for residents in low-lying areas and flood channels to secure homes and establishments. They should take measures to prevent rainwater ingress, secure loose objects on rooftops, clean water drains, check all types of heaters and use them safely, and avoid negligence behaviors inside homes. Additionally, they should report any emergencies promptly via the emergency numbers Civil Defense 102, Police 101, Coordination 163, and Ambulance 101.
The Higher Council for Civil Defense emphasized the necessity of adhering to preventive measures to ensure the safety of citizens and property.
