Israel Hands Over the Body of Abdul-Muttalib Al-Qaisi to Jordan
SadaNews - Jordanian sources reported on Thursday that Israel has handed over the body of the martyr Abdul-Muttalib Al-Qaisi, who carried out the attack at the Al-Karama crossing last September, which resulted in the death of two Israeli soldiers.
Israeli media reported that the Israeli authorities will return the body of the perpetrator of the Al-Karama operation within two hours after midnight tonight.
In Jordan, Yusuf Abdul-Muttalib Al-Qaisi, the son of the martyr, announced the arrival of his father's body in Jordan, indicating that the burial ceremony will take place in the Wadi Al-Shita area.
Yusuf wrote in a post on his Facebook page: "O Lord, praise be to You, my father's martyr's body has arrived, the burial in Wadi Al-Shita and the prayer in the Wadi Al-Shita mosque at dawn".
The Jordanian government had previously announced that the perpetrator of the operation was Abdul-Muttalib Al-Qaisi, born in 1968, who was a civilian and worked as a driver delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip during the three months preceding the operation.
For its part, the Israeli army stated in a previous statement that Al-Qaisi carried out the operation while driving a truck of humanitarian aid coming from Jordan through the crossing linking the West Bank to Jordan, where he opened fire before security forces shot at him.
According to an investigation by the Israeli occupation army, "the perpetrator crossed from the Jordanian side to the crossing while driving a truck of humanitarian aid intended for entry into the Gaza Strip, similar to dozens of trucks that cross daily through the crossing."
The investigation noted that "as soon as the perpetrator entered the Israeli side of the crossing, at the goods yard, he began to carry out the operation by opening fire at the individuals present in the area before his truck reached the inspection area, that is, before he was inspected by the Israeli side."
It is noted that the Israeli authorities had detained the body of the martyr Abdul-Muttalib Al-Qaisi, who carried out the attack at the Al-Karama crossing, where he opened fire on September 18, 2025.
