Israel Prepares Intelligence File to Convince Trump to Launch New Attack on Iran
SadaNews - Israel is preparing to present a comprehensive intelligence file to U.S. President Donald Trump during his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida, aiming to persuade him to take practical steps against Iran, including the possibility of launching a new attack, according to a report published today, Sunday, by the Israeli newspaper Yisrael Hayom.
The Israeli newspaper indicates that Trump is hesitant to take decisive steps, and that the meeting with Netanyahu - who is wanted by the International Criminal Court - aims to define a common roadmap and coordinate a radical approach to the Iranian issue.
According to sources from the newspaper, the intelligence file will focus on the renewal of the Iranian nuclear program, the development of ballistic missiles, the activities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, and funding and supporting terrorism through Tehran's arms in the region.
Tel Aviv, according to the Israeli newspaper, sees the overthrow of the Iranian regime as the fundamental solution to end the wars in the region.
The newspaper also notes that Israel is considering military and economic options in parallel with supporting the internal opposition to destabilize the regime in Tehran, amid economic deterioration in Iran and potential Western pressures to tighten sanctions.
This revelation comes after NBC News reported on Saturday from Israeli and U.S. sources that Netanyahu plans to brief Trump on potential plans to launch new strikes against Iran.
The sources stated that Israeli officials' concern has increased regarding "Iran's expansion of its ballistic missile program, which was damaged due to Israeli military strikes earlier this year," and they are preparing to inform the U.S. president about options to attack again.
The sources added that Israeli officials are also worried about Iran restarting uranium enrichment sites that were targeted in U.S. strikes during the 12-day war last June.
They stated that the Israeli prime minister will present Trump with options to join any new military operations or to assist in them, according to the American channel.
However, two former Israeli officials said that Trump may be less enthusiastic about any new military action in Iran if tensions continue between U.S. and Israeli officials regarding Netanyahu's approach to the ceasefire in Gaza, which began on October 10 and has been violated by Israel several times.
This comes at a time when Tehran has expressed its desire to resume diplomatic talks with the United States regarding its nuclear program.
As part of what the U.S. termed 'Midnight Hammer Operation', the U.S. military targeted Iranian nuclear facilities at dawn on June 22 with over 100 aircraft and submarines and 7 B-2 bombers, days after continuous Israeli strikes on Iranian military facilities began on the 13th of the same month, before the war ended on June 24.
