Netanyahu Intends to Convince Trump to Strike Iran Again
SadaNews - As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump later this month in Florida, Israeli officials have expressed their country’s "increasing concern over Iran expanding its ballistic missile program, which was damaged by Israeli military strikes last June."
Israeli officials and other U.S. sources revealed that Netanyahu will present Trump with options for attacking Iran again, according to what was reported by NBC News on Saturday.
Urgent Move
Furthermore, the Israeli guest will attempt to persuade Trump that this Iranian expansion in the ballistic missile program poses a threat and requires urgent action.
Additionally, sources noted that part of Netanyahu's argument will focus on the fact that Tehran's actions represent risks not only to Israel but to the broader region, including American interests.
Netanyahu is also expected to present options for U.S. involvement or assistance to Israel in any new military operations.
However, former Israeli officials believe that Trump may be less enthusiastic about launching a new military action against Iran if disagreements continue between American and Israeli officials over Netanyahu's approach to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Meanwhile, a White House spokesperson clarified that the U.S. president had previously stated that if Iran sought to acquire nuclear weapons, it would be targeted, according to NBC.
This information comes amid rising tensions also between Washington and Caracas, with Trump not ruling out military options against Venezuela.
It also follows focused U.S. strikes in June that targeted significant nuclear facilities within Iran, while Israel struck numerous military sites and weapons and missile manufacturing centers.
