Medical Negligence Threatens the Life of a 'Paralyzed' Prisoner in Jails
SadaNews: The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs documented, following a visit from its legal team, a serious medical condition of a prisoner who is subjected to systematic medical neglect inside the detention centers, in an act that adds to the record of violations by the Israeli occupation against sick prisoners.
It reported in a statement today, Wednesday, that prisoner Fadi Ouda (41 years old) from Tulkarem Governorate has been detained since 2023 and suffers from complete paralysis on the right side of his body due to previous injuries. His health condition is critically deteriorating, as he suffers from widespread sores on his body, without receiving any necessary treatment or medication. It emphasized that the prisoner is in dire need of a wheelchair permanently, especially for using the toilet, in addition to the necessity of providing medical bags due to his inability to move continuously, amidst a complete lack of the most basic health care requirements.
It pointed out that prisoner Ouda suffers from significant weight loss, reflecting the level of deliberate medical neglect that exposes his life to a real and immediate threat.
