Report: Detainees in "Damon" Face Repressive Policies and Violations Similar to Those Faced by Prisoners
SadaNews - The Israeli occupation authorities continue their repressive treatment of Palestinian female detainees in the "Damon" prison, subjecting them to the same detention policies imposed on male prisoners, including arbitrary detention, harsh interrogation, and the absence of fair legal guarantees.
The authority clarified in a statement today, Wednesday, that the female detainees in Damon suffer from difficult detention conditions, manifested in repeated and humiliating searches, the imposition of collective punishments, restrictions on visits, in addition to the deprivation of basic life necessities.
It emphasized that deliberate medical neglect is one of the most prominent violations against the female detainees, as they experience delays in treatment and denial of necessary examinations, further exacerbating their health and psychological conditions. Additionally, there are policies of isolation and arbitrary transfer, along with attempts to break their will through continuous psychological pressure.
It is noteworthy that the number of female detainees held in the occupation's prisons has reached about 50, according to a report published by detainee institutions yesterday.
