Sit-in in front of the Council of Ministers demanding the restoration of the rights of the families of martyrs, prisoners, and the wounded

SadaNews - Today, a sit-in was organized in front of the Council of Ministers in Ramallah to demand the restoration of the rights of the families of martyrs, prisoners, and the wounded.

The head of the Prisoners' Club, Abdullah al-Zaghari, said, "This is the story of Palestine, the mother of Nasser Abu Hamid, whose son was martyred inside the occupation's prisons, and she had five sons imprisoned in those prisons. On this day, we received the news of the martyrdom of another prisoner among our heroic martyrs, who are subjected to a slow death, systematic medical crimes, and deliberate starvation."

He added, "The martyr Sakhr Zaeel; and in just four days, two prisoners have ascended to martyrdom inside the prisons. This is a strange and painful paradox: prisoners being killed inside the detention centers, facing the most heinous crimes at the hands of this criminal occupation, and we stand here today for their rights; they represent the noblest phenomenon in Palestinian history: our martyrs, prisoners, and wounded, on whose shoulders the pillars of the homeland and the pillars of the Palestinian National Authority were built."

He continued, "Today we stand with inner pain and wounds, calling for the simplest rights guaranteed by the laws of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the laws of the Palestinian National Authority. We stand here crying out for these rights that must be immediately implemented; it is unreasonable for us to plead for them."

He added, "Therefore, our message today, in the name of the families of the prisoners, the families of the martyrs, and the released prisoners in Cairo and outside the homeland, many of whom have not yet been able to meet their mothers. And Umm Nasser Abu Hamid is one of those mothers who have dedicated their entire lives and have suffered in pain on the visit routes, and she has not yet been able to embrace what remains of her sons."

Al-Zaghari said, "We are the owners of this national project, a project we defend with our blood, our lives, and our bodies. Enough silence, enough submission to Western and American dictates; we are the rightful owners, and our prisoners are not a burden on anyone, but they are the rightful owners whose rights must be safeguarded and paid immediately. Our message to the Palestinian leadership, first: an urgent and immediate intervention to save the prisoners from certain death inside the occupation prisons; it is unreasonable for us to receive our prisoners as corpses. Second: The rights of prisoners and the wounded, and all struggling groups, especially the families of the martyrs, is a red line that should not be crossed under any circumstances; we are the owners of the land, and we are the owners of the homeland."

In his turn, to the spirit of Raed Abu Al-Homs, head of the Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners, during the sit-in that was organized today in front of the Council of Ministers during a series of protests demanding the restoration of the rights of the families of prisoners, the wounded, and martyrs.
