Israel Announces Assassination of a Hamas Leader in Gaza, Hamas Accuses It of Undermining the Agreement
SadaNews - The Israeli army has officially announced the assassination of Hamas military leader Raed Saad.
The Israeli army stated that it, in collaboration with the General Security Service (Shabak), launched an attack on a prominent leader of the Hamas movement in the city of Gaza.
The Israeli army's radio clarified that the target was leader Raed Saad, who devised the "October 7th" attack plan to defeat the Gaza brigade of the army, as stated.
Israeli security sources reported that the targeted individual was the prominent leader in the Qassam Brigades, Raed Saad, describing him as the second-in-command, and confirmed the success of the operation.
The radio stated that the targeted leader was attempting to reconstruct and produce weapons within Hamas, and added that he had participated in efforts to rehabilitate and manufacture weapons for the movement.
The army's radio revealed that the occupation had attempted to assassinate Saad in recent times, indicating that he survived assassination attempts during the war.
Furthermore, the radio added that the assassination operation was carried out with the approval of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu without prior notification to Washington.
In this context, the newspaper "Israel Hayom" quoted a security source stating that there was no coordination with the Americans before carrying out the assassination operation.
In contrast, Hamas stated that the Israeli airstrike on a car in the city of Gaza is a further violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Hamas added that the "crime" once again confirms that the occupation deliberately seeks to undermine and thwart the ceasefire agreement.
It called on mediators and guarantor countries to take responsibility regarding the occupation's violations and to act to restrain its government.
