Israeli Airstrikes Target Villages in Southern Lebanon
SadaNews - The warplanes of the Israeli occupation carried out an airstrike on the towns of Mahrouna and Jba'a in southern Lebanon, following a warning from the Israeli army to citizens in southern Lebanon about its intention to carry out imminent attacks on sites it claims are linked to Hezbollah.
The Israeli occupation army also urged residents of specific buildings in the villages of Barashit and Al-Majadel in the south to evacuate immediately. Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee stated in a post on X that "the Israeli army will soon attack military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in various parts of southern Lebanon," accusing the party of attempting to "rebuild its activities in the area."
Adraee accompanied his warning with maps of two locations in the villages of Jba'a and Mahrouna, warning citizens to "stay at least 300 meters away from the two sites."
This is the first significant escalation from Israel towards Lebanon since the visit of the Pope to the country a few days ago, and just hours after meetings in the Naqoura region of southern Lebanon.
