Netanyahu appoints his military secretary as new head of Mossad
SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Thursday, his decision to appoint his military secretary, Major General Roman Gofman, as the new head of the "Mossad" intelligence and special operations agency, following a series of interviews he conducted with several candidates for the position.
Gofman will lead the agency, succeeding the current head David Barnea, whose term ends after five years in June 2026.
Netanyahu's decision to appoint Gofman is set to be presented to the advisory committee for high-level appointments, paving the way for the official approval of his leadership of Israel's most prominent security agency.
