By the Numbers: 114 Life-Sentenced Prisoners in Occupation Prisons, Most from Hebron and Nablus
SadaNews - The Prisoners Media Office reported that the number of Palestinian prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment in occupation prisons will reach about 114 by December 2025, distributed across various governorates.
This follows the release of 503 life-sentenced prisoners as part of the "Tsunami of Freedom" deal, out of a total of 608 who were serving life sentences before the "Tsunami of Al-Aqsa" operation.
The office clarified that the geographical distribution of life-sentenced prisoners includes: Hebron 28, Nablus 21, Ramallah 17, occupied territories 16, Jenin 9, Tulkarm 7, Bethlehem 4, Jericho 3, Qalqilya 2, Salfit 2, Jerusalem 3, Gaza 2.
It pointed out that life-sentenced prisoners face harsh conditions inside prisons, amid an escalation of abuse policies and stringent measures imposed by the occupation during the ongoing state of emergency, which increases their daily suffering and multiplies the challenges to their resilience.
