Occupation Forces Demolish 155 Houses and Facilities in the West Bank During November
SadaNews - The Palestinian Department of Labor and Planning in the Palestine Liberation Organization issued its monthly report on the attacks of settlers and the demolition of houses and facilities in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, highlighting the following points according to the department:
First: Demolition of Houses and Facilities:
During November, the Israeli occupation authorities demolished (155) houses and facilities in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, including the demolition of (60) houses and (95) facilities, of which (8) were self-demolitions in the towns and neighborhoods of Silwan, Al-Issawiya, Beit Hanina, Sur Baher, and the Peace neighborhood. Their owners carried out these demolitions themselves to avoid paying exorbitant fines. The demolition operations concentrated in the Jerusalem Governorate and Jenin camp, where (25) houses were demolished as part of the ongoing military operation that has been continuing for months.
As part of the policy of collective punishment, the occupation forces demolished the house of the prisoner Maher Samara from the town of Bruqin in the Salfit Governorate, claiming his involvement in a militant operation against settlers.
Settler gangs continued to vandalize and destroy citizens’ facilities in the villages and cities of the West Bank, where the department documented settlements demolishing (19) residential units and service and agricultural facilities, which included the village of Al-Jabaa, Khallayil Al-Lawz in the Bethlehem Governorate, and the gatherings of Al-Hathroun, Al-Maghazi, and Al-Khan Al-Ahmar north and east of the Jerusalem Governorate, as well as the Bedouin gathering near the town of Beit Lid in the Tulkarm Governorate, and the villages of Ramoun and Abu Falakh northeast of the Ramallah Governorate, and Al-Farisiyah and Al-Ras Al-Ahmar in the northern Jordan Valley in the Tubas Governorate, and the village of Majdal Bani Fadil in the Nablus Governorate, and the village of Susiya southeast of the Hebron Governorate.
The occupation authorities notified (104) houses and facilities of demolition and suspension of construction and work, covering the Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Tubas, northern Jordan Valley, Salfit, and Nablus Governorates, including (40) demolition notices in the Wadi Al-Homs area located southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Second: Attacks by Settler Gangs:
During the month of November, the settler gangs carried out (604) attacks against Palestinian citizens and their properties, with 60% of these attacks concentrated in the Nablus, Hebron, Ramallah, and Al-Bireh Governorates, respectively.
These criminal assaults resulted in the martyrdom of young Ahmad Rabhi Al-Atrash (35) years old, from the city of Hebron, due to direct gunfire at him near the northern entrance of the city, thereby raising the number of martyrs who have fallen at the hands of settlers since the beginning of the year to (16) martyrs.
Meanwhile, (137) citizens sustained various injuries as a result of being attacked with blows, gunfire, stone-throwing, and being sprayed with gas, including (11) women and two children.
The assaults included (18) incidents of gunfire, uprooting and burning (1880) fruitful trees, stealing and killing (53) livestock belonging to Palestinian farmers, while (64) vehicles were damaged due to being burned or struck with stones. In addition, settler gangs destroyed (19) agricultural and service houses and facilities in villages and towns of the West Bank and burned two mosques in the towns of Bidya and Deir Estiya in the Salfit Governorate.
In the context of the pastoral settlement expansion, attempts were monitored last month to establish (10) settlement outposts in Sur Baher, Anata, and Al-Khan Al-Ahmar in the Jerusalem Governorate, and Deir Jarir in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate, and the towns of Qaryout and Jemayin in the Nablus Governorate, and the town of Sai'r in the Hebron Governorate, and Al-Malih and Al-Hadidiya in the Tubas Governorate and northern Jordan Valley, and Al-Auja Falls in the Jericho Governorate. This raises the number of pastoral settlement outposts established by settler gangs supported by the extremist occupation government to (90) outposts that are scattered across the entire area of the West Bank, aimed at suffocating Palestinian population centers and closing as much agricultural and pastoral land as possible in front of Palestinian farmers, in addition to displacing Bedouin communities, especially in the eastern slopes of the West Bank mountains, at the lowest cost and as quickly as possible, which is what the policy of pastoral settlement outposts offers, which serve as stakes in the ground for the phase of fixed settlement construction.
