As'ad: The Occupation Is Isolating Tubas Governorate from Other Governorates in the West Bank
SadaNews: The Governor of Tubas and the Northern Valleys, Ahmad As'ad, stated that the occupation forces have deployed large reinforcements to the Tubas Governorate accompanied by military bulldozers, which have started to close the roads leading to the governorate with earthen mounds, effectively isolating it from other governorates in the West Bank.
He added: "For the first time, Apache helicopters are participating in military maneuvers after years, where they fired their heavy machine guns at residential areas," while his forces raided several homes in the city of Tubas and the towns of Tammun, Far'a, and Tayaseer, expelling some residents and informing them to return after several days, turning those homes into military barracks.
As'ad condemned the occupation's measures, which come at a time when the Tubas Governorate is suffering from daily incursions and the maltreatment of citizens through military checkpoints surrounding the governorate.
He noted that the occupation forces have imposed a curfew until further notice, and we have issued instructions to ensure the safety of our people by suspending the school and institutional schedules, keeping emergency committees across all areas on standby, and operating under these difficult security conditions to meet the needs of citizens and provide what they require.
The Governor of Tubas added that the occupation forces restrict the movement of ambulances and medical teams, and do not allow access to certain medical cases that require care, and there is communication with the International Red Cross to intervene to transport and deal with those cases.
He called on international community institutions and the International Red Cross for immediate intervention to stop the violations of the occupation and the collective punishment imposed on the Tubas Governorate, which has become a training ground for its forces.
