After the Assassination of a Top Leader, Israel Raises Alert Status in the North
SadaNews - The Israeli army radio reported that the army has decided to raise the alert status in the air defense system in the north.
It added: "The Israeli army is preparing for a new round aimed at weakening Hezbollah and intends to continue attacks on Lebanon."
This follows the announcement that Israel and Hezbollah confirmed the assassination of the prominent military leader in the party, Abu Ali al-Tabtabaei, on Sunday after an airstrike targeted him precisely in the southern suburb of Beirut, which also resulted in the martyrdom of 5 people and the injury of 28 others.
This development comes at a time when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu renewed his commitment to continue striking Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, asserting that his government "will do whatever is necessary" to prevent the two parties from rebuilding their capabilities or threatening Israeli security.
