Washington Plans to Confiscate Land from Gaza Residents and Compensate the Owners
SadaNews - The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported, citing two American sources, this Saturday evening, that the United States has begun steps to reduce its military presence within the Civil-Military Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, southern Israel.
According to the sources, several American soldiers have already started to leave the Kiryat Gat site in recent days.
The sources clarified that Washington is working to transform the role of the Kiryat Gat center to become part of a "Peace Center" that is expected to manage civil and security files related to the Gaza Strip in the upcoming phase.
In this context, Haaretz reported from a diplomatic source that the United States is considering confiscating lands owned by Palestinians in Gaza in exchange for financial compensation to the owners, aiming to prepare the necessary spaces to begin reconstruction projects.
The source added that the planning operations for debris removal in the sector are progressing rapidly as part of the preparations for the next phase.
