Mustafa Calls on Switzerland and Japan to Recognize the State of Palestine
SadaNews - Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa met, on the sidelines of the donors' meeting in Brussels, with Swiss State Minister Alexander Vassler and Japanese Deputy Foreign Minister, Parliamentarian Ms. Eri Arvia, separately, in the presence of the Palestinian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political and Legal Affairs Omar Awadallah and the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union, Amal Jadu al-Shuqaa.
During the meetings, the Prime Minister reviewed the government's efforts in reform and institutional development, in addition to the executive program for the Arab plan for recovery and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which includes 56 sub-programs across 18 sectors, including housing, social services, infrastructure, economy, and governance.
Mustafa expressed his gratitude to Switzerland for the support provided to Palestine on all levels, calling on Switzerland to engage more in the next phase, especially the recovery and reconstruction process in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of Switzerland recognizing the State of Palestine.
He appreciated Japan's steady political support for the two-state solution, financial and developmental support, building institutions, and enhancing capacities, in addition to humanitarian and relief efforts for our people in the Gaza Strip, urging Japan to help pressure Israel to release the withheld Palestinian funds, as well as to recognize the State of Palestine to support and maintain the two-state solution.
