Oman on Its Glorious National Day Affirms Its Steadfast Position on Palestine
SadaNews - Today, Thursday, the Sultanate of Oman celebrates its glorious national day, the anniversary of the founding of the Al Bu Sa'id dynasty, which coincides with November 20 each year, embodying the spirit of national belonging and the renewed march of renaissance led by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq (may God protect him).
The Sultanate of Oman has established a firm diplomatic approach based on positive neutrality, balance, dialogue, and respect for the United Nations Charter and international law, calling for the prioritization of the voice of wisdom and de-escalation in the region, and adopting peaceful means to settle disputes without interfering in the internal affairs of states. Oman consistently emphasizes the importance of the United Nations Security Council fulfilling its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security and enhancing international efforts to achieve sustainable development and justice for peoples. Oman also reaffirms its unwavering position supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, calling on the international community to work diligently towards achieving a two-state solution as the fair and only path to establish comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, affirming that anything less than that would be merely temporary solutions that do not serve the collective interest or achieve the desired stability.
The Sultanate of Oman views the temporary halt of military actions as an opportunity to revive the political track and resume serious dialogue, leading to a just peace that guarantees the legitimate rights of all and establishes security and stability in the region. Oman also reaffirms its firm position rejecting encroachments on the sovereignty of states, supporting every effort that contributes to de-escalation, dialogue, and the protection of civilians. It believes that confronting global political, economic, and environmental challenges requires genuine international solidarity based on justice, cooperation, and respect for international law, away from double standards or the logic of power.
Domestically, the Sultanate of Oman is witnessing a comprehensive developmental transformation based on "Oman Vision 2040," through economic diversification, enhancing the innovation system, and improving the efficiency of the government and economic sector.
The social protection system has seen significant expansion, with the number of beneficiaries exceeding 63.6% since its launch, while Oman has made tangible progress in the health sector and ranked 55th globally in the "Legatum Prosperity Index - Health pillar."
In the field of environment and sustainability, Oman topped Arab countries in reducing pollution levels and ranked 22nd globally, in addition to operating 56 air quality monitoring stations and enhancing food and water security.
In the youth sector, the Sultanate of Oman pays extensive attention to this category as a pillar of the present and future, having implemented a series of qualitative empowerment programs, the most notable of which are the Young Ambassadors Program for diplomatic and international qualification, the "Ready" camp, the Youth Excellence Award, the "Thank You Our Youth" project, the "Support" project, the youth initiatives incubator, and the "Communication" award for film production and debates.
These initiatives come with direct support and follow-up from His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham bin Tariq, Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth.
On the economic front, the Sultanate of Oman achieved positive growth in 2025, reduced public debt to 14.1 billion Omani Riyals, and maintained its credit rating of "-BBB".
Foreign direct investment rose to 30.279 billion Omani Riyals, while investment in economic zones doubled to 22 billion Omani Riyals.
The Oman Investment Authority has also strengthened its global position, ranking eighth in five-year returns, and announced the completion of 14 national quality projects worth over 450 million Riyals.
In the field of innovation, Oman advanced 10 ranks in the Global Innovation Index and funded over 2,200 research projects since 2018.
In conclusion, the Sultanate of Oman reaffirms its commitment to solidifying its growing economic position as a promising investment destination and a regional model in prudent financial management, grounded in a long-term vision that enhances sustainability and diversifies revenue sources. As it steadfastly proceeds with the implementation of major national projects and improving the efficiency of the business environment, Oman reinforces its presence as a rising economy capable of competing and attracting global investments, reflecting the strength of economic policies and the clarity of the future vision adopted by the state in this renewed renaissance stage.
