Occupation Demolishes a House in Silwan South of Al-Aqsa Mosque
SadaNews -Israeli occupation forces demolished a house today, Wednesday, in the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Local sources reported that the occupation municipality's crews manually demolished the house of Jerusalemite Musa Badran in the Bustan neighborhood of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after he began dismantling it himself days earlier to avoid hefty financial penalties.
A week ago, the occupation authorities forced Badran to demolish his house in the Bustan neighborhood, as part of their policy aimed at displacing citizens and Judaizing Jerusalem neighborhoods.
The house is located in an area that faces continuous pressure from the occupation authorities, which repeatedly issue demolition orders under the pretext of building without permits, while Jerusalemites face extreme difficulties in obtaining building permits within the occupied city of Jerusalem.
The demolition of Badran's house comes amid an escalation of demolition operations carried out by the occupation authorities in Jerusalem this year. Statistics reported that 93 buildings were demolished in the city by the end of May, including 53 houses, while other reports indicated that more than 623 houses and facilities have been destroyed in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of this year, as part of a campaign aimed at displacing Palestinians and imposing Israeli control.
The demolition of homes in the Bustan neighborhood continues the policy of demographic cleansing and pressure on Palestinian citizens, emphasizing that these measures increase their daily suffering and exacerbate the housing crisis in the holy city.
