Israeli Security Official Excludes Deal with Besieged Hamas Elements in Rafah

A leadership source in the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, reported today that the brigade fighters retrieved the body of Israeli officer Hadar Goldin from the city of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip.

The source added, in a statement to Al Jazeera, that six Palestinian martyrs were also retrieved from the same site during the operation.

According to the Israeli broadcasting authority, preparations are underway to receive the body of a prisoner in the coming hours, noting that the army has conducted search operations for Goldin in the same tunnel over the past year on a daily basis but has not found him.
