Trump: Kazakhstan Will Join the Abraham Accords, and We Will Deploy Stability Forces in Gaza Soon

SadaNews - President Donald Trump announced on Friday that Kazakhstan will join the Abraham Accords, which normalize relations between Israel and predominantly Muslim countries.

This announcement came after a phone call involving Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Trump made the announcement during a meeting with leaders from five Central Asian countries at the White House, including Kazakhstan, as part of what is referred to as the "5+1 Group".

Trump said, "I had a wonderful call with Netanyahu (Israeli Prime Minister) and the President of Kazakhstan," noting that Kazakhstan is the first country to join the Abraham Accords during his second term in the White House.

He continued, "We will soon announce an official signing ceremony, and there are many other countries looking to join this power club."

For his part, Kazakhstan's President told Trump, "Your role is important and your policy is wise."

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio wrote on X, "The American people have the greatest defender and champion of peace in President Donald Trump, who continues to enhance his record as the greatest negotiator in the world, with Kazakhstan joining the historic Abraham Accords today. We are grateful to Kazakhstan for its support of the President's mission to achieve peace and stability around the world."

In a separate context, Trump stated that he expects the international stability forces to arrive in Gaza "very soon," a day after the U.S. announced a draft resolution in the Security Council aimed at supporting Trump's peace plan.

The Republican president affirmed, "This will happen very soon. Things in Gaza are going well," in response to a question from a journalist regarding the deployment of international forces in the strip, which still faces a dire humanitarian situation after nearly a month of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

On another note, Trump revealed that Iran has requested the lifting of U.S. sanctions imposed on it, expressing his openness to discussing that.

He said, "Honestly, Iran has been asking about the possibility of lifting the sanctions. There are severe U.S. sanctions imposed on Iran, and this complicates matters for them," adding, "I am open to hearing about it, and we will see what happens, but I will be open to it."
