American Official Reveals Developments on International Force Resolution Project Regarding Gaza
SadaNews - A senior American official stated this evening, Thursday, that a draft resolution has been prepared at the Security Council based on President Donald Trump's 20-point plan regarding Gaza.
The official confirmed to Al Jazeera that there has been direct communication with potential countries that may contribute to the international force for Gaza.
He said: Based on the feedback from the countries, we have drafted the mandate for the force included in the draft resolution, noting that the countries that have expressed their desire to participate in the international force for Gaza are comfortable with the language of the draft resolution.
He indicated that early discussions suggest that the international force in Gaza will replace the Israeli army, adding that the Security Council members will be listened to regarding the draft resolution concerning the international force for Gaza.
He added: I do not expect any country at the Security Council to oppose the most promising path for peace in the region in years.. If the draft resolution is obstructed, it means a return to hell for the people of Gaza.
He continued: Intensive consultations have taken place regarding the draft resolution with Israelis and Palestinian diplomats in New York.
He emphasized that the ceasefire in Gaza is very fragile right now and we will constantly remind the members of the Security Council about the alternative, noting that there is no perfect plan but this is the best path forward and we know it is different from what has been offered regarding Gaza.
