Jordan Condemns Occupation's Announcement of Tenders to Build 356 Settler Units in the West Bank

SadaNews - The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the Israeli occupation government's announcement of new tenders for the construction of 356 settler units in the occupied West Bank.

The ministry stated in a statement today, Wednesday, that this constitutes a reinforcement of the occupation and a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, clearly undermining the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, ending the occupation, and embodying their sovereign independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with its capital in occupied Jerusalem. It emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian land.

The official spokesperson for the ministry, Fouad Majali, affirmed the kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the occupation government's continued colonial plans in the occupied West Bank, its ongoing repressive measures against the Palestinians, and its persistent violations of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, especially UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli actions aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and status of the occupied Palestinian land since 1967, including East Jerusalem, in addition to the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which confirmed the illegality of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, and the invalidity of settlement construction and annexation measures in the occupied West Bank.

Majali called on the international community to bear its legal and moral responsibilities, to compel Israel to halt its dangerous escalation and illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, and to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their national territory; the only way to achieve just and comprehensive peace, which guarantees security and stability in the region.
