Egyptian Foreign Minister Contacts Counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Turkey to Discuss the Situation in Gaza and Sudan

SadaNews - On Tuesday, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel-Aty, held phone calls with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, as well as his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi and Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.

According to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the calls addressed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, where Abdel-Aty reviewed Egypt's ongoing efforts to solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh peace agreement.

He emphasized the importance of fully implementing the terms of the agreement to ensure the end of the war and alleviate humanitarian suffering.

In this context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the need to move to the second phase of the U.S. President's plan, which includes political, developmental, and humanitarian aspects.

He reviewed Egypt's efforts and the preparations related to holding the international conference for reconstruction, early recovery, and development in the Gaza Strip, scheduled to take place in Cairo during November, which will be a pivotal step in mobilizing international support for reconstruction efforts and achieving stability.

The calls also addressed the latest developments in Sudan, where Abdel-Aty reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast position supporting the unity and stability of Sudan and its national institutions, noting the efforts Egypt is making within the framework of the Quadruple Mechanism concerning Sudan to support de-escalation and reach a comprehensive ceasefire throughout the country.

The Egyptian minister emphasized the importance of coordinated regional and international efforts to achieve a comprehensive humanitarian truce that paves the way for a comprehensive political process, ensuring the flow of humanitarian and relief aid throughout Sudan. He also condemned the blatant violations witnessed in Al-Fasher recently, stressing the need for an immediate end to these violations and reaffirming Egypt's commitment to continue providing humanitarian and relief support to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.
