The Palestinian Government Calls for International Pressure to Stop the Law of Executing Prisoners
SadaNews - Prime Minister Dr. Mohammed Mustafa announced that the government will distribute today the executive program for the recovery and reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip to various countries and relevant international institutions, indicating that the program presents a strategic vision for recovery and reconstruction priorities. Its release coincides with the updated report on the losses and needs for the Gaza Strip, in collaboration with the World Bank and UN institutions, to confirm the government's readiness and that of various international partners to work on implementing this program as quickly as possible, within the limits of the current circumstances.
The Prime Minister emphasized at the beginning of the weekly government session today, Tuesday, the continuation of coordination with UN institutions, international partners, brotherly and friendly countries, and donor agencies to implement coordinated and integrated interventions.
In another context, the Cabinet urged the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by pressuring to stop the occupation's actions and the Israeli Knesset's approval of a bill to execute Palestinian prisoners, considering this a new indicator of the extremist nature of the Israeli government and its continuation of genocide policies against our people.
The Council also underscored the urgent appeal made by the "Government Operations Room" to the United Nations and its relief agencies, as well as to the international community in all its components, for immediate action to save thousands of displaced families threatened by the risk of drowning in the low-lying areas of the Gaza Strip as winter approaches. It called for immediate urgent action to secure alternative and safe shelters and to provide basic necessities to prevent a worsening of the imminent humanitarian disaster.
Furthermore, the Cabinet approved recommendations from the Water Regulation Sector regarding water pricing in bulk for water suppliers for the next three years, emphasizing the prevention of cost increases for citizens and enhancing the required efficiency from the operators.
It also approved the renewal of contracts with employees to regulate traffic on the Kafr Aqab - Qalandiya/Jerusalem road for a period of six months.
Additionally, it approved a memorandum of understanding between the Energy and Natural Resources Authority and the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for cooperation in the fields of electrical interconnection, exchange of expertise and technical information, and facilitating the implementation of projects of mutual interest.
Lastly, it discussed in the first reading two draft laws regarding settlement courts and the fees for land and water settlement courts.
