Saudi Crown Prince Visits Washington and Meets Trump on November 18
SadaNews: An American official at the White House reported that the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, intends to visit Washington on November 18.
This will be Prince Mohammed bin Salman's second visit to Washington following his first visit in 2018, and he will meet with President Trump.
A source told Agence France-Presse that Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Trump will discuss security, political, and economic issues.
The two sides are expected to discuss a mutual defense agreement between Washington and Riyadh, as the Financial Times reported two weeks ago that there are hopes of signing the agreement during the visit.
The visit comes at a time when Trump is seeking to encourage Saudi Arabia to join the "Abraham Accords," which were signed in 2020 between the United States and several Arab countries, namely the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco, to normalize relations with Israel.
According to American sources, Riyadh remains hesitant to join the accords due to the lack of any progress towards establishing an independent Palestinian state, while Trump, in an interview with CBS's "60 Minutes," expressed his belief that the Saudis will ultimately join.
