"Prisoners' Authority": Deterioration of the health condition of prisoner Rajai Abdul Qader suffering from cancer

SadaNews - The Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners reported that its lawyer visited "Januot" prison and observed the conditions of the prisoners there, especially the sick ones, where it noted the continued policy of deliberate medical negligence against some of them, foremost among them prisoner Rajai Hussein Abdul Qader (43 years old) from the town of Deir Ammar west of Ramallah.

According to the commission's report, prisoner Abdul Qader has been under administrative detention since November 28, 2023, and his administrative detention has been extended four consecutive times for six months each time. This is his second detention, as he previously spent 45 months in occupation prisons between 2015 and 2019.

During his previous detention, the prisoner was diagnosed with cancer in 2017, with tumors found in the lungs, liver, and testicles. He underwent treatment at "Soraka" Hospital while in Negev prison, where his left testicle was removed, and he received 24 sessions of chemotherapy.

After his release, he continued his treatment at Al-Najah Hospital and Ramallah Hospital, but his health condition deteriorated again since his re-arrest due to lack of necessary medical care. He was transferred on 05/05/2024 to the Ramla prison clinic, where only a superficial routine examination was conducted, and he was recently transferred to Eshil prison, where he underwent a full body "ultrasound" examination without receiving the results until now.

It was confirmed that prisoner Abdul Qader urgently needs to undergo a (CT scan), amid real fears of the disease returning to spread in his body, holding the occupation authorities fully responsible for any deterioration in his health condition due to deliberate medical negligence.
